Course Overview

The Unreal Engine 5 Complete Course offers an extensive exploration of the powerful tools and features within Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Starting with foundational topics such as project setup, UI navigation, and basic asset management, the course gradually introduces advanced topics such as material editing, lighting, AI, animation, and real-time cinematics. Through project-based learning, participants will develop both technical and creative skills, resulting in the creation of fully optimized, interactive game levels.

Course outcome

By the end of this course, you will have mastered Unreal Engine 5 and its extensive toolset. You will be able to create high-quality game environments, implement dynamic gameplay mechanics, and design immersive audio and visual experiences. You will also be equipped with the skills to optimize and package your game projects for deployment across various platforms. Whether you aim to work in game development or create your own interactive projects, this course will provide the technical and creative expertise needed for success.

Your new skills

  • Understanding Unreal Engine 5’s interface and project workflow
  • Creating and optimizing static and dynamic environments using UE5 tools
  • Advanced material creation, including animated and cloth materials
  • High-quality lighting techniques, including Lumen, ray tracing, and Lightmass
  • Cinematic animation and camera manipulation using Sequencer
  • Blueprints visual scripting for interactivity, AI, and game mechanics
  • Animation systems including Blend Spaces, MetaHumans, and full-body IK
  • Audio integration, sound modulation, and the use of MetaSounds and Wwise
  • Profiling, packaging, and optimizing game environments for performance

Prerequisites:

  • No prior experience with Unreal Engine 5 is required, though familiarity with basic game development concepts or 3D software is beneficial.
  • A workstation with the following specifications:

Windows:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit version 1909 revision .1350 or higher, or versions 2004 and 20H2 revision .789 or higher
  • CPU: Quad-core Intel or AMD, 3 GHz or faster
  • RAM: 16 GB (32 GB preferred for demanding tasks)
  • Storage: 256 GB SSD (OS) + 1 TB SDD (Data)
  • GPU: DirectX 11 or 12 compatible graphics card with the latest drivers
  • DirectX: 11 or 12

Mac OS:

  • Operating System: macOS Monterey or later
  • CPU: Apple Silicon (M1 Pro, M1 Max, M2, or newer) or an Intel i7/i9 processor
  • RAM: At least 16 GB (32 GB preferred for demanding tasks)
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD or more (no need for an HDD since Macs typically come with SSD-only configurations)
  • GPU: Integrated Apple Silicon GPU (M1 Pro/Max/Ultra) or a discrete AMD Radeon GPU if using an older Intel-based Mac

Note: Ensure the Mac has sufficient cooling and power capabilities to handle prolonged, intensive UE5 work, which is better managed on desktops like the Mac Studio or high-performance MacBook Pros.
